MST Sport Stacking Championships

The Montessori School of Tokyo was the scene on June 9th for the MST Sport Stacking Championships 2006! "We had a great turnout of sport stackers and a whole lot of fun," said tournament organizer James Moore.

A total of 26 stackers registered to participate, with an additional audience of over 30 non-stacking students and parents. Including teachers and helpers, the MST Multipurpose room was full to bursting with about 60 people, which made for a great day of sport stacking!

The students loved the event, which took place in a high pressure, healthily competitive and fun atmosphere. There are many good stackers at MST and the level of competition was extremely high. Everyone knew they would really have to perform well to rank high in their age divisions.

Also taking part in the competition were several adults, including a parent of one of the students as well as the Head of School, who participated in the singles competition. There was also a staff relay team entered into the relay competition. Comprised of 4 members of the school administration team, they had great fun and generated a lot of excitement for everyone.

"We will definitely be doing this again," said Moore. "This first event was very successful and the level of enthusiasm extremely high. The plan is to make this a regular event!"

Congratulations to all who participated in this fun and exciting tournament!
